There is a lie people tell themselves when they fall apart. They say the pressure ruined them. They say the burden was too much. They say the pain broke what had once been strong. But pressure does not invent weakness. It reveals what was already there.

That is what people fear about The Path. Not the hardship itself, but the truth it forces into the light. The Path does not promise that everyone will endure it. It only promises that everyone who steps onto it will be exposed by it.

Some break under it because they were built on noise, on illusion, on comfort disguised as confidence. When the cost comes due, there is nothing solid underneath. There is only collapse.

But collapse is not the whole story. If breaking reveals weakness, then enduring reveals substance. The pressure that destroys one person can sharpen another. The fire that leaves one in pieces can temper someone else into steel.

That is why the doctrine never apologizes for the burden. The burden is the test. The test is the revelation. Some break under it. Some are shaped by it.
