There are nights built for bright lights and celebration. The Haunting Hour is not one of them.
On Sunday, October 25, Southern League Wrestling returns to Washburn, Tennessee for The Haunting Hour, and as the card begins to take shape, The Path of Pain finds itself exactly where it belongs.
Darkness. Consequence. Championship gold. Unfinished business.
Two members of The Path have now learned who will be standing across the ring from them, and both matches carry consequences beyond a single night.
Aaron Lucas vs. Uncle Slam
Aaron Lucas enters The Haunting Hour with Uncle Slam standing in his way.
The stakes have already been made clear. If Uncle Slam can defeat The Hand of Vengeance, he earns a future opportunity at the SLW Southern Heavyweight Championship.
That means Aaron is not simply fighting for another victory. He stands between Uncle Slam and a future shot at the championship currently carried by Joe Morningstar.
Before Uncle Slam can reach for the gold, he has to get through The Path.
Joe Morningstar vs. Draven Lee
At the top of the card, Joe Morningstar walks into The Haunting Hour as the reigning SLW Southern Heavyweight Champion.
Waiting for him is Draven Lee, making his SLW debut with an opportunity to immediately leave with the company's top championship.
Joe captured the Southern Heavyweight Championship earlier this year and successfully retained it in the rematch that followed. On October 25, another challenger gets his opportunity to find out exactly what it takes to remove the title from The Father.
Draven Lee gets one night to make an introduction. Joe Morningstar intends to make it a lesson.
There Could Not Be a Better Night for The Path
The Haunting Hour is built around the things people would rather avoid when the lights go out.
Fear. Violence. The thoughts that get louder when there is nowhere left to distract yourself.
The Path of Pain has never asked anyone to hide from those things. Pain is acknowledged. Fear is confronted. What follows is carried forward and turned into something useful.
So while the rest of SLW enters a night wrapped in Halloween darkness, The Path enters familiar territory.
The Haunting Hour does not change The Path.
It simply turns down the lights.
